I believe that what you eat determines, in large part, the state of your health and happiness. I believe that food should be consumed with joy rather than guilt. I believe that most people would prefer to eat in a way that is healthful rather than harmful and that in many cases it is time and/or money and/or lack of information that leads people to make less than healthful food choices. I believe that we make a bigger difference when we focus on the positive than on the negative.

These stories will NOT feature pink slime, big companies beating out the little guy, dieting tips or weight loss advice, scolding of those who eat in any particular way, rants that vegan or vegetarian lifestyles are in any way superior or inferior to omnivore or carnivore lifestyles, nor will they highlight horrific news stories about people growing ill or dying from food-born illness and contamination.

What I will share are personal and positive stories about food and my community. I will share recipes, ideas for incorporating fresher and more local foods into your current meal plan, guides for sharing healthy food habits with children, and profiles of farmers, gardeners, restaurant owners and value-added foods producers who play a role in the food I put on my family's table.
